Scientific evidence of the effects of the FitforKids Program

In 2012, the FitforKids Fitness Program was the subject of a research project conducted by the Centre of Inflammation and Metabolism, which is located at The National Hospital of Denmark. The purpose was to get evidence of the effect of FitforKids’ Program.

At the Rigshospital, the doctors measured the children from FritforKids’ program on a wide range of physical, metabolic and cognitive parameters. The information collected was after compared with information collected from children that did not participated in FitforKids’ program.

The study from Rigshospital showed that the children from FitforKids’ program have a clear reduction on:

  • weight
  • BMI
  • Waist (81,2 to 75,8 cm)
  • Fat percentage (40% to 34,7%)
  • Liver function tests
  • Triglycerides
  • Insulin

And a very clear improvement on:

  • Jump height
  • Number of steps per day (average)
  • Number of steps per day (minimum)

The clinical physician in charge for the research project, MD Nina Birk Eriksens, concludes:

“We are very pleased with the results, which show that FitforKids’ program improves the children’s metabolism condition, body composition, fitness and self-rated quality of life. The children that undergo the intervention are significantly healthier afterwards.”
